Etihad’s New York-Mumbai flight is now world’s most expensive one-way trip

New Delhi: Etihad Airways’ new route between New York and Mumbai comes with the tag of being the world’s most expensive one-way luxury trip with a remarkable $38,000 (Rs 25.22 lakhs) price tag.

According to a press statement issued by Etihad Airways, the flight A380 features a total capacity of 496 seats – up to two guests in The Residence, nine First Apartments, 70 Business Studios, and 415 Economy Smart Seats.

“The airline has taken the finest details from the best service hospitality establishments around the world to redefine the A380 travel experience – from the comfort of a seat and finest cuisine to new in-flight amenities and extensive entertainment options,” it said.

The one-way fares including taxes and surcharges, for The Residence in either direction between Abu Dhabi and Mumbai are approximately US$ 5,000 (Rs 3.31 lakhs) and between London and Mumbai will cost approximately, US$ 26,000 (Rs 17.25 lakhs).

The Residence is an ultra-private, three-room suite featuring a living room; the nine First Apartments in First Class are private living spaces; the 70-configured Business Studios located on the upper deck of the A380 offers direct aisle access; the Lobby is a luxurious lounge located between the First Class and Business Class cabins and the main deck features 415 Economy Smart Seats.

The A380 operates on one of the five-daily scheduled flights between Mumbai and Abu Dhabi. Etihad Airways operates three flights and Jet Airways operates two.

The Mumbai A380 also offers guests with connections to and from popular destinations such as London, Paris, Manchester, Chicago, San Francisco, Toronto, Bahrain, Doha and Jeddah.
