New Delhi: With HR Khan set to retire from the post of Deputy Governor – Reserve Bank of India (RBI), on July 7 after attaining 62 years of age, he would be succeeded by NS Vishwanathan, who will be taking the post. 
 
Under the chairmanship of Raghuram Rajan, around 8-11 executive directors were interviewed, after which HR Khan’s name was finalised. 
 
Also with Raghuram Rajan stepping down as the RBI Governor, the race for the post has started. So far, four people have been selected and the final call will be taken after conducting a series of interviews. 
 
Not serving the second term, Raghuram Rajan is set to quit his office in September this year. 
 
Several names are doing the rounds for the RBI Governor’s post. As per reports, the probable candidates are Vijay Kelkar, Rakesh Mohan, Ashok Lahiri, Urjit Patel, Arundhati Bhattacharya, Subir Gokarn and Ashok Chawla.
