NEW DELHI: The spokesperson of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Shahnawaz Hussain on Wednesday stated that the party will decide who to support in Bihar on the floor of the House when the trial of strength takes place.

While addressing a press conference in New Delhi, Hussain, a prominent leader of BJP while commenting about thecurrent scenario in Bihar stated that it was the internal matter of the Janata Dal (United) or JD(U).

“This is the internal issue of JD(U) and BJP has nothing to do with it. BJP will take the decision on the floor of the House. They shouldn't align us with their internal matter,” he said on being quizzed over which faction of JD(U) his party would support.

Hussain attacking the former Chief Minister of Bihar Nitish Kumar said, “He got separated from BJP as he wanted to be become the Prime Minister of India, however, he is now struggling to be the Chief Minister of Bihar.”

Shahnawaz Hussain’s remarks came in context of the ongoing crisis in Bihar between the current CM of Bihar Jitan Ram Manjhi and Nitish Kumar.

While Kumar had staged Manjhi as the Chief Minister of Bihar in his place straight away after the Lok Sabha Elections 2014, the existing CM of Bihar has now refused to vacate the post for him.

In the mean while, in another major setback for Nitish Kumar, the Patna High Court has stayed his election as Janata Dal (United)’s state legislature party leader on Wednesday.

Kumar who was elected as the leader of the JD(U) legislature party leader on Monday had met the Keshari Nath TripathBihar Governor to stake claim to form the government.

Ahead of this, the JD(U) also expelled the Jitan Ram Manjhi from the party with immediate effect on Monday before electing Nitish Kumar as the legislature party leader of the party.

On the other hand, Manjhi too met the Governor the day he was expelled and made a similar claim saying that he needs an opportunity to prove majority on the floor of the House.

Even though the Governor is still to take a final call, Nitish Kumar on Tuesday reached Delhi along with 130 MLAs to meet President Pranab Mukherjee in the matter.

Commenting on the same, Shahnawaz Hussain in his press conference said, “Nitish is getting desperate to form government. Who has the right to form government can be decided on floor of the house. Nitish should wait but he is going to President.”

“BJP hopes Nitish will respect constitutional mechanism and will wait. He is desperate to become the Chief Minister. He and Manjhi both are making bids. Our options are open. Nitish has admitted to his mistake for giving up CM chair but his biggest mistake was his decision to move away from BJP and ally with RJD. From PM-in-waiting, he has become CM-in-waiting,” Hussain further added.
