Lalit Kumar Modi is an Indian businessman and cricket administrator. He was the first Chairman and Commissioner of the Indian Premier League (IPL), and also served as the Chairman of the Champions League during 2008-2010.

He was the Vice President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) during 2005-2010. He has also served as the President of the Rajasthan Cricket Association (2005-2009 and 2014-2015), and as the Vice President of the Punjab Cricket Association.

After launching and running IPL for 3 years, Modi was found guilty of misconduct, indiscipline and financial irregularities, resulting in his removal and subsequent lifetime ban by the BCCI. He denied all wrongdoing and blamed accusations of wrondoings on political rivalries.
