NEW DELHI: Mr. Perfectionist is set for his next big project that is expected to hit the screens late next year. Yes, ‘Dangal’ is what it is called! Bollywood heartthrob Aamir Khan on Monday released the poster of Dangal on Twitter and gained immense attention and praises for it. (Also Read: Poster of ‘DANGAL’ released)
Based on the real life events of former Wrestler Mahavir Phogat, Dangal is sure to be a remarkable tribute to the grassroots sport. The movie revolves around Wrestling Coach Mahavir Phogat and his two daughters Geeta Phogat and Babita Phogat who are also the icon players at the upcoming Pro Wrestling League. Introduced by Pro Sportify, a joint venture between Kartikeya Sharma of iTV Network and Ashish Chadha of sports management firm Sporty Solutionz, Pro Wrestling League is one of the biggest IPL-style wrestling events that will include top wrestlers from both national and international level.
The first edition of the event that is scheduled between November 8 – 29, will see participation from six teams where each of it would have 11 wrestlers in it (five females and six males).Approximately 20 top wrestlers across the globe including several Olympic medalists have been signed for the upcoming league.
Speaking exclusively with us on the same, Mahavir Phogat expressed, “My father was a Wrestler and from there I inherited this sport. My daughters watched wrestling on television sports channels when they were young. Many people in my village de-motivated me to take my daughters ahead in wrestling.”
The Wrestling Coach further extended his gratitude towards one of the most reputed stars of B-town saying, “I never thought that stars like Aamir Khan would display the struggle we went through and show our life in such a beautiful way via his movie. Aamir Khan is a very nice person and has given me a lot of respect. Khan has done an incredible job in portraying my character and he has simply done justice to the role.”
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, ‘Dangal’ is an upcoming Indian biographical sports drama film which is scheduled to release on December 23, 2016.
