Two Tamil Actors face-off

TAMILNADU: Vishal and Sarathkumar, two of the well-known Tamil Actors, are contesting for the post of President of one of the most powerful film bodies of India, South Indian Film Artistes’ Association.
Both the actors have support and blessing of Kamal Hasaan. However, Sarathkumar has accused Hasaan of instigating Vishal to break the association.
Sarathkumar, who believes that Haasan is supporting Vishal, has accused Haasan of favouritism.
During this election, both DMK and, ADMK, have stayed out of this controversy. Both the camps have members from both the parties so the election cannot be split on political lines.
Team Vishal on one hand claims that “not enough has been done for the film industry” whereas, Sarathkumar says that he has “been voted for past 9 years due to good work.”
Before Sarathkumar, Vijayakanth was the President of the Association and his obvious motive was to enter politics. Same is the case with Sarathkumar and now Vishal, whom Sarathkumar has accused of having political ambitions.
It is a well-known fact that in Tamilnadu, Politics and Films always go hand-in-hand. This is probably one of the greatest examples of the same.
