NEW DELHI: The ‘My Choice’ video featuring Deepika Padukone is going through severe criticism from different parts of the society ever since it has hit the internet. In fact, it is being flaked to an extent that both men and women are smashing the actress for featuring in such a feminist movie that endorses adultery, cheating, disloyalty and anything but women empowerment.

Known for her ‘cold’ relationship with Deepika, the ‘Khoobsurat’ actress in her recent media interaction was asked about her thoughts on Deepika’s latest video by Homi Adajania. Here is what the leggy lass offered as her answer. “Elitist women have always had wrong ideas about feminism. They think male-bashing… hating men…makes you a true feminist. I don’t have to make a video to voice my opinions. My actions have always spoken louder than my words. I’m proud to be a woman and I respect my independence. I’m never afraid to give my opinion on any matter. That’s what feminism is about.”

There is no doubt that Sonam does have a valid point to make here but at the same time, by disagreeing with Deepika at all points.

However, Sonam is not the only actress who has not supported Deepika for this video. Sonakshi Sinha and Kangana Ranaut too have expressed their disagreement over the idea of male-bashing.

Opposing the same, the ‘Dabangg’ actress said, “Women empowerment is not about what clothes you wear and who you want to have sex with and stuff like that.” Sinha’s voice was echoed by Kangana who said, “Women’s empowerment does not mean you create a complex among men. Then it will take 20 more years to empower men. It is all about evolving as a soul, as a human being. It does not mean that you become a sexist.”
