Los Angeles: Hollywood actor Leonardo DiCaprio won the Oscar for the Best Actor for his film 'The Revenant' at the 88th Academy Awards ceremony.
Leo tweeted out to the Academy in thanks as well as to his cast and crew.

This was the first Oscar win for Leonardo, after being previously nominated but missing it. He had previously been nominated for 5 Academy Awards but to the dismay of many fans had not been able to win. The internet has been flooded with not only comedic memes about Leo's lack of Oscar wins, but also well-argued writings about how he truly deserved an Oscar at this point. It seems the Academy has finally bowed to pressure and decided to bring this meme to an end.
