Los Angeles: The beans have finally been spilled. Actress Preity Zinta has married her longtime US-based boyfriend, Gene Goodenough.
The wedding took place on February 28, 2016 at Los Angeles. Apparently it was a very private affair with only immediate family and close friends of the bride and groom present at the wedding. Though the ‘Salam Namaste’ actress had been keeping her relationship with Gene Goodenough under wraps, she had been spotted in LA holidaying with her close friends Sussanne Khan and Surily Goel. They later posted their holiday pictures on Instagram. This is what confirmed that Preity Zinta was in the city of LA and busy with her wedding plans.
The virtual world had a flood of speculations that the “Kal Ho Naa Ho” star had exchanged wedding vows with Goodenough on Monday night (Tuesday morning in India). There is also news that Preity’s close friends Surily Goel and Sussanne Khan were part of the secret ceremony. Preity was earlier famously dating Bombay Dyeing heir Ness Wadia.
Last year Preity Zinta had been miffed with the rumours surrounding her impending marriage plans. Rumours had it that the “Soldier” actress would be tying the knot with her rumoured American beau Gene Goodenough in January, which was later followed by rumours suggesting that the actress would be getting hitched on February 14, Valentine’s Day.
Preity had reacted to all these stories by tweeting: “Really? I think you should shut down your paper or carry real news! I am actually fed up of manufactured news. Can you leave my marriage announcement to me please after all it’s my life till then leave me alone.”
But the wedding has finally laid to rest the churning of the rumour mills. Soon after Preity Zinta and Gene Goodenough tied the knot, the rumours of their wedding started doing the rounds on Twitter. It was Kabir Bedi’s tweet that confirmed the happy news.
Sushmita Sen and Farah Khan also tweeted to congratulate her.
