National Awards: Malayalam actor Jayasurya bags Special Jury Award

After bagging the Kerala State Film Award, there are bigger acknowledgements waiting for Malayalam actor Jayasurya, who has now been awarded Special Jury Award at the 63rd National Film Awards. 
The actor clinched the award for his for his exemplary performances in ‘Su… Su..Sudhi Vathmeekam’ and ‘Lukka Chuppi.’
Jayasurya was seen saying that he has always been the runner-up but never the winner. Even after giving impressive performances in movies like ‘Beautiful’ and ‘Apothecary,’ Jayasurya did not receive any awards and he had thought the same for these two movies as well. But the fate had something else in store for him, which did not only get him award, but a national award and wide appreciation for his acting skills.  For Jayasurya, this national award is like an Oscar for him. 
Jayasurya marked his entrance in the Malayalam film industry in 2002 with the movie ‘Oomappenninu Uriyadappayyan’ where he played a deaf-and-dumb youngster. Since then the actor has been known for experimenting with his roles and trying his hand at off the beat movies.
