New Delhi: Sachin Tendulkar’s upcoming biopic named ‘Sachin Tendulkar: A billion dreams’ features Tendulkar himself where the global cricket superstar also narrates the teaser. The teaser was released earlier on Thursday while the poster was revealed by Tendulkar on Monday.

Sachin Tendulkar's son Arjun Tendulkar is reported to be playing the role of a younger Sachin in his biopic.

The film is directed by James Erskine and produced by Ravi Bhagchandka.

Filmmakers have shot Sachin in real time and they have been shooting him for the last three years. The most unique part in the film is Sachin Tendulkar himself in the movie.

“Sachin has been a childhood idol. When I use to play cricket and get to know that Sachin will come to the ground, we would wait for him for hours just to get a glimpse of him or probably bowl to him as net bowlers,” said Ravi Bhagchandka, “Meeting Sachin and getting to know his side of the story is like a dream come true.”

The film is a mixture of Sachin Tendulkar’s cricket life as well as his personal life.

“We want to portray what made him a master blaster of cricket...what went behind the scenes in making him a century god,” said the producer.  “We have interviewed everyone who is closely associated with including top cricketers.”

Ravi further added to the ordeal the film had to go through and said, “It took us two and a half years of getting what the flow should be, what kind of film it should be, and what kind of story should be left out because Sachin is the most written about in last 20 years. Carnival is co-producing the movie with us and they have got their own expertise and chain of cinema and we are looking forward to them.”
