PUNE: According to the reports, Shiv Sena, jointly ruling Maharashtra with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has forced the organizers of the Pakistani singer Atif Aslam’s concert to cancel the event stating that ‘there is no place for Pakistani performers in Pune’.

Atif Aslam was scheduled to perform in Pune on April 25, 2015.

When the political party that appears to be anti-Pakistan was in power had imposed a ban on Pakistani artistes. Shiv Sena once again has reportedly asked the organizers of Atif Aslam’s concert, Anjaneya Sathe Group to call off the event in the city.

While the popular singer could not be reached to take a comment, a Anjaneya Group source told a tabloid, “This is a political issue. The Shiv Sena is not allowing us to go ahead with the show. We do not wish to court any political complications and decided to call off the show.”

The police on the other hand have denied any political connection in the case, however, Shiv Sena Pune President Vinayak Nimhan has accepted that their political party had gotten in touch with the police and requested them to cancel the event.

“We had met the deputy commissioner of police and requested that no such programme involving Pakistani artistes should be permitted to happen,” Nimhan was quoted in the tabloid.
