Bollywood celebs extend support for Nepal earthquake relief fund, request fans to donate for the cause

B-town celebs extend support for Nepal

MUMBAI: While Nepal is wrestling with the after effects of a devastating earthquake, the Indian film industry has urged their fans to stand united and extend donations for relief funds through various sources. Names like Amitabh Bachchan, Karan Johar, Alia Bhatt, Anil Kapoor have come in front and requested their friends and followers to support the people in need in Nepal.

Several names of the glamorous world have already extended support to an online fund-raising space – Ketto. The ‘Rang De Basanti’ fame, Kunal Kapoor is the co-founder of the platform running an online campaign dedicated to help Nepal with the tag ‘JoinHandsforNepal’ on micro-blogging site Twitter.

The campaign intends to raise funds worth INR 100,000 that will help buy 20 survival kits, each worth INR 5, 000 with basics such as tarpaulin, mats and hygiene kit.

The funds collected through this will go to CARE INDIA that will assist in healing process of Nepal.
