Mumbai: After Bollywood director Anurag Kashyap’s upcoming film’s release was grounded by Censor Board over ‘excessive swearing’, the CBFC member Ashoke Pandit said, “As far as Udta Punjab is concerned, I came to know that there was difference of opinion between committee members.”

Pandit clarified that the entire rumour that ‘Udta Punjab’ has been rejected for censor certificate is wrong and not the right news. The film will go to the revising committee, and then they will decide and take action.

“It’s a process which the producer and film industry follows. There is nothing extraordinary being done to this film,” Ashok Pandit added.

The ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ director’s ‘Udta Punjab’ is based on drug problem that has gripped the state in the recent years. The film stars Shahid Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Diljit Dosanjh.
