Haryana: While cleaning a water tanker in Sonipat, Haryana, an emission of poisonous gas from the concrete chamber killed the four labourers working inside it. Three others who were affected in the mishap are seriously injured.
Taking place on Monday night at Sonipat district in Haryana, a total of seven labourers were called to work on an issue inside a water tanker. When the labourers had climbed inside the tanker with the use of a ladder, a poisonous gas which was emitted inside the chamber took the lives of four labourers while three were seriously injured.
Due to the unsafe working conditions and a lack of governmental empathy towards these labourers, sewage cleaners and water tanker cleaners are often exposed to harmful chemicals, subjecting them to prolonged physical harm.
