MUMBAI: The verdict in the 13-year-old hit-and-run case involving actor Salman Khan has been declared and the actor has been announced with five years imprisonment.

Earlier in the day, Salman was announced guilty and charged with culpable homicide not amounting to murder

49-year-old Salman broke down in the court room while Judge DW Deshpande announced his fate along with sisters Arpita Khan Sharma and Alvira Khan Agnihotri who too were in tears.

As Salman will now be in custody, let’s take a look on how his friends in Bollywood reacted on the verdict declared today.

Ahead of the judgment, Salman’s sister Arpita Khan posted on her Twitter wall:

The actor has been fighting the case since September 2002 after his Land Cruiser ran over five people sleeping on the footpath outside American Express bakery on Hill Road in Bandra which killed one person and injured four more people.
