New Delhi: The ‘flying’ controversies around Shahid Kapoor-Alia Bhatt starrer ‘Udta Punjab’ has created a massive furore in Bollywood. The row of controversies went uglier when it took a political turn.
The Censor Board has ordered 89 clips in the movie be chopped in order to remove the cuss words used in the film.
While makers of the film are already planning to drag censor board to the court, Alia Bhatt took to Twitter posting a strong message and lashed out the censor board with a Malala Yousafzai’s quote saying, “We realize the importance of our voices only when we are silenced”

Actor Shahid Kapoor‘s younger brother Ishaan Khattar who was working earlier in ‘Udta Punjab’ as an assistant director is also upset over the censor board’s judgement over the movie. Ishaan expressed his concern on Facebook saying that:
Earlier, the board had also asked to remove reference to the state of Punjab in the film. The reference to police in Punjab is also under question. But these changes are not merely artistic. The ruling party of the Badals in Punjab, worried about the impact Udta Punjab will have on the upcoming states elections, objected to the title of the movie as well as the portrayal of Punjab as a whole.
The controversial movie ‘Udta Punjab’ highlights the drug epidemic existing all over Punjab.
