New Delhi: In a recent development in the row over the movie ‘Udta Punjab’, the Central Board of Film Certification has taken a u-turn and cleared the film with an 'A' certificate.
The head for the board Pahlaj Nihalani has come out and said that the film has been cleared with an 'A' certificate.
Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt-starrer 'Udta Punjab' has been surrounded by controversy for quite some time now and the movie was to get 89 cuts.
Earlier, calling cinema a reflection of society, veteran actor Anupam Kher has extended support to the makers of "Udta Punjab" and said that the Certification Board's involvement in the controversy surrounding the film was 'shocking'.
The movie is scheduled to be released on June 17.
The film stars Shahid Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt and Diljit Dosanjh.
