Mumbai: “Biography of Apple co-founder changed his ideas about business,” says Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan.
Speaking about how Apple founder Steve Jobs’ biography helped him in understanding business, the ‘Fan’ actor said that the book made him realise people should focus only on one thing at a time. And that idea, he added, changed the direction of his own company, Red Chillies Entertainment.
“At Red Chillies Entertainment, I was involved in multiple businesses. But after reading the book (on Steve Jobs), I realised that focusing only on one thing will help,” SRK said.
“So, we stopped TV and ad production and focused entirely on films and visual effects,” the actor said while interacting on #fame, a live entertainment application.
Sharing his thoughts about business and way of pursuing one thing at a time, the ‘DDLJ’ actor said, “’Blink’, a book by Malcolm Gladwell is all about doing business. The book explains that in a competition, the guy who blinks first loses first.”
Speaking about his own world which is filmmaking, a book by Blake Snyder’s “Save the Cat” SRK said, “For all aspiring writers, this is one of the best books on screenplay writing that I have read so far.”
It was during his shoot for Yash Chopra’s “Jab Tak Hai Jaan” in London when he got several copies of EL James’ erotic-romance “Fifty Shades of Grey”, which he is yet to finish reading.
