New Delhi: Film producer Kalaipuli S Thanu on Thursday approached Madras High Court seeking to prevent the illegal download of his upcoming film ‘Kabali’ on internet.
The producer told the court that movies are sold online at cheap rates and from a single copy; several thousand copies are made and sold in the black market.
In his petition, Thanu sought a direction to Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) to issue instructions to all service providers to block websites offering illegal download of the film.
Kabali is an India-Tamil gangster-drama starring Rajinikanth and Radhika Apte. The film is slated to release on 22 July, 2016.
