Mumbai: Bollywood actors Aamir Khan and Ranveer Singh have received notices from Central Board of Excise & Custom (CBEC), seeking information about their income. Khan and Singh were asked to disclose their salaries and income they earn from their producers.
Production houses like Yash Raj Films and Salman Khan Films were also asked to give detailed information about their incomes.
The service tax department is probing closely on ‘high-profile’ tax defaulters and the department is focusing on Bollywood because Bollywood constantly grown into a huge money-making industry.
The report further says that CBEC looked into the big names and covered major films like Ek Tha Tiger, Dhoom 3, PK, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Bajirao Mastani, and Sultan.
Earlier, superstar Shah Rukh Khan had also received a notice from Income Tax department to give a detail about his investments in overseas countries.
