New Delhi: The makers of 'Battle of Saragarhi' recently unveiled Randeep Hooda's first look in the upcoming movie.
Randeep Hooda plays the role of Havildar Ishar Singh, a military commander of the 36th Sikhs which is today known as the 4th battalion of the Sikh regiment.
As per sources, the ‘Highway’ star will undergo proper training and will be studying Sikh history for his role. The movie will be shot in locations like Chandigarh, Punjab, Northern India as well as some international locations.
The main plot of the movie revolves around the Battle of Saragarhi that took place in 1897 between the then British Indian Army and Afghan Orakzai tribesmen in the North-West Frontier Province.
Battle of Saragarhi will be directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and is produced by Group Chairman Raju Chadha under the banner of Wave Cinemas that is confirmed by CEO of Wave Cinemas Rahul Mittra. The movie is slated to release on September 12 at Saragarhi Gurudwara in Amritsar.
