New Delhi: As a gesture of appreciation for the Indian Olympic athletes, Bollywood actor Salman Khan on Tuesday announced on Twitter that he will present each participant with a cheque of Rs 1,01,000.

The actor said that he admires the work that the Olympic Gold Quest (OGQ) is doing to shape tomorrow’s champions.

“I admire the work that Olympic Gold Quest (OGQ) is doing to shape tmrw's champions,” the 'Sultan' tweeted.

Salman Khan said that the government is very supportive of sports and we should also do our bit to encourage the budding stars.

The 50-year-old actor also appreciated companies like Edelweiss and Jio, who have come forward to support the Olympics.

A total number of 118 athletes, including 54 women, are representing India at Rio Olympics this year. But unfortunaley, India has not been able to bag even one single medal.

India has five days to win the medal, otherwise, for the first time since 1992, it will return medal-less.
