New Delhi: Former Indian ace cricketer Virender Sehwag who, after a glorious career in cricket, has formed a huge fan following on social media platform Twitter for his medal-worthy tweets, has yet again proved it by taking on British Journalist Piers Morgan for his sarcastic tweet on India’s Olympic celebration.
Piers Morgans’s hitting out at India for its nationwide celebration after winning two medals at the Rio Olympics didn’t go down well with Virender Sehwag who back-lashed at him by writing on Twitter that “Indians cherish every small happiness” and also that England who invented cricket is yet to win a World Cup.
As usual, his tweet went viral within a few hours with over 14,000 retweets and 17,000 likes till now.
Not a personality who easily gives up, Piers Morgan replied saying that had Kevin Pietersen still been playing, they would have won the World Cup.
Virender Sehwag did not take long to remind the British journalist that first, Kevin Pietersen originally belonged to South Africa and secondly, he did play 2007 World Cup, which England failed to win.
The tiff started when Piers Morgan re-posted a news article on celebrations in India on winning two medals at the Olympics.
India bagged a total of 2 medals at the Rio Olympics 2016, with shuttler PV Sindhu winning a silver medal and wrestler Sakshi Malik clinching a bronze.
