Draupadi gives a modern twist to Mahabharata

New Delhi: Indian epics 'Mahabharata' and 'Ramayana' have portrayed women playing a pivotal role in them, be it 'Draupadi' or 'Sita'. The stories of Sita and Draupadi, however, have always been controversial, which questions the position of women in the Indian society.
The latest short movie 'Draupadi' written by writer Akshat Verma of 'Delhi Belly' fame starring Neena Gupta, Arunoday Singh, Jim Sarbh, Aditi Rao Hydari and Vivaan Shah portrays the story of 'Mahabharata' in a modern day situation.
In this short film too, Draupadi is given little choice to make her decision before being distributed to each brother as she was in the mythology.
The 16-minute long short movie 'Draupadi' starts with Arjun bringing home Draupadi (Aditi Rao Hydari) to meet with Kunti (Neena Gupta), only to be told to share her with Arjun’s  five brothers.
Draupadi is produced by The Day After Everyday and presented by MAMA's BOYS.
