New Delhi: In a recent interview actor Taapsee Pannu revealed that she has been approached for a biopic on ‘Iron Lady’, Irom Sharmila.
Although there are rumours that the ‘Pink’ star has been signed for the movie but she says that she is yet to read the script.
Pannu said, “I have been asked, but we are figuring out time when will I goand listen to the script because I’ve been running around with these things (promotions). Once ‘Pink’ releases, I’ll hear it and then see.”
‘Iron Lady’ Irom Sharmila ended her 16-year-old hunger strike, the world’s longest hunger strike last month. The political unrest in the north-easternstates of India provoked Sharmila to go on a hunger strike.
If reports are to be believed the movie will be titled ‘Imphal ‘and will be presented by Hansal Mehta.
Mehta has also directed biopic like ‘Shahid’ (based on Human Rights lawyer Shahid Azmi), ‘Aligarh’ (based on the infamous homosexual scandal of a professor) which fetched him awards at film festivals.
