New Delhi: Tollywood star Prabhas, who became famous after playing Amarendra Baahubali in director SS Rajamouli's Baahubali: The Beginning, on Friday became the first Telugu actor to feature at Madame Tussauds.
With a new wax figure, Prabhas will be joining the league of world’s famous celebrities like Cristiano Ronaldo, Taylor Swift, Celine Dion, Narendra Modi, Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
“Prabhas is definitely in the spotlight,” commented Noppadon Prapimpunt, Head of Bangkok Cluster for Merlin Entertainments (Thailand), and General Manager of Madame Tussauds Bangkok.
The creation of the actor’s figure was requested by the fans all over the world.
During his sitting, Prabhas said, “I am really happy to have been selected by Madame Tussauds’ and I think this was only possible because of fans. I am grateful for their unconditional love and support. I am also thankful to my guru, SS Rajamouli, for the opportunity to work on this fantastic project Baahubali.”
The announcement was made on Twitter by SS Rajamouli.
He wrote: "Very happy to announce that Madame Tussauds is making a wax statue of our PRABHAS.. First South Indian to be honoured this."

According to Times of India report, Prabhas underwent a sitting in Hyderabad with Madame Tussauds’ artists, where 350 photos and measurements were taken of the star to enable a truly flawless re-creation of his likeness.
He will be depicted as his character Amarendra Baahubali and will be seen in his battle armour at Madame Tussauds’ Bangkok.
