New Delhi: Sangeet Date, the son of famous Marathi singer Arun Date breathed his last on Monday, after he succumbed to a liver disease in Sion Hospital, Pune.
As per reports, Arun Date had written a letter to Sangeet in 2012 asking him not to make any contact with the family nor ask for any financial help. However, when this did not help, Date disowned him publicly by posting advertisements in several newspapers.
After the reports of the same circulating, Date was quoted saying that it was because of the dishonest and “reckless lifestyle” of his son that he threw him out of his house and with every other possible thing associated with the family.
Sangeet was admitted in Sion on September 23 and was undergoing treatment for a cirrhotic liver. Liver failure has been identified as the cause of his death.
Joy Bhosle, a TV producer and Sangeet’s friend, received a call from the police on Tuesday informing him about the unfortunate news. On Wednesday, Sangeet’s family turned up to claim his body.
Sangeet was last seen living under Pune’s Wakad-Hinjewadi bridge.
