My childhood dream could not come true, but will definitely be a part of Ramleela next year.

New Delhi: Bollywood actor and theatre artist Nawazuddin Siddiqui's recent visit to his hometown Budhana in Muzaffarnagar has turned out to be an unpleasant one.
When the ‘Manjhi’ actor was approached by the ‘Ramleeela’ committee of Budhana to be a part of the production he gave them a positive reply. On Wednesday, Nawazuddin confirmed that he would play the role of ‘Maricha’ in the programme.
The actor was planning to return to theatre after 20 years with the role of Maricha, Ravan's uncle but could not do so because Shiv Sena activists of Budhana forced the committee to cancel the show. One of the reasons they put forward was that Siddique was a Muslim and no Muslim had ever played any role in the Budhana Ramlila.
The 'Raman Raghav 2.0' actor, who was eagerly waiting to perform in the Ramleela, tweeted out a link of the rehearsal video with caption: Ever since I was a child I wanted to be part of this, even the people in the town were very excited, but around 6 pm yesterday I was told I can’t participate. I accepted the decision.
Nawazuddin Siddique recently made headlines after his sister-in-law allegedly accused him and his family of assault and dowry harassment.
