Om Puri apologises for comments on surgical strikes; says will personally go and apologise to the families of the martyrs

New Delhi: Apologising to the families of the Indian soldiers after his recent comments on Indian Army's surgical strike, veteran actor Om Puri on Friday said, "Will personally go and apologise to the families of the martyrs, will ask them to punish me."
Speaking about his earlier comment, Om Puri said, "Their (people) anger is justified, I am not seeking forgiveness but punishment."
"There is no justifiaction about what I had said; I will make up for it in a contructive way and I will bear the consequences."
"Iska koi justification nahi hai, iska prayashith main ek constructive tareeke se karunga, main apni sazaa bhuktunga," Om Puri on surgical strike.
A couple of days ago, a complaint was filed against veteran actor Om Puri in Andheri police station in Mumbai for his recent comments on Indian Army soldiers.
Om Puri, while speaking in support of the Pakistani actors had said that banning Pakistani artistes will not change the situation between India and Pakistan.
He also said that artistes from Pakistan are not illegally working in India. If these artistes are sent back, those producers or filmmakers who have signed them for their ventures will suffer great losses.
Speaking during a debate on a leading english news channel, Om Puri had made an insensitive comment on the soldiers saying that "Who had asked the soldiers to join the army? Who told them to pick the weapons?"
Om Puri while speaking to NewsX during a debate had said, "Your films go full houses in Pakistan. The government should decide on the Visa policy. Terrorism is our common enemy. How many times has there been martial law in their country?"
