New Delhi: Canadian pop singer Celine Dion crossed another milestone as she performed in Las Vegas at Caesars Palace’s The Colosseum on Saturday night. This was ‘My heart will go on’ fame diva’s 1000th show of her career.
An audience of more than a thousand packed the milestone show which coincided with Caesars Palace's 50th anniversary. Dion performed both new music and classic hits, including ‘A New Day Has Come’, ‘I’m Alive’ and ‘That’s the Way it is’.
A statement posted on Dion's Instagram account, read, "On March 25th, 2003, Celine performed her first of many concerts at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. Tonight, we are proud to celebrate her #1000th performance over 13 years!”
The ‘Power of Love’ hitmaker returned to stage after a three-year hiatus in 2011 in Las Vegas with her new show ‘Celine’. The show has extended its performances until June 2017.
In August 2014, Dion announced the postponement of all her show business activities because of the worsening health condition of her husband, who was diagnosed with cancer.
On 14 January 2016, her husband Rene Angélil died from complications of cancer at the age of 73. Unfortunately, after two days of her husband’s dead, Dion's brother, Daniel too died at the age of 59.
