New Delhi: Quantico actor Priyanka Chopra has come out strongly to condemn and oppose the ban on Pakistani actors in the aftermath of the Uri attack. Priyanka said it was unjustified that actors alone had to pay the price for everything.
While speaking to a news channel about the issue, Priyanka Chopra said, "It's tricky because first of all artistes and actors are always held responsible for every bigger political agenda that happens in our country. Why are only we reflecting it? Why not businesses, why not doctors, why not politicians."
Pakistani actors have been banned from working in the country ever since the Uri attack where terrorists killed 19 Indian soldiers. Not only that, as fierce backlash continued, Karan Johar's upcoming movie 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil' was embroiled in the fiasco as political parties protested the release of the movie which has Pakistani actor Fawad Khan in it.
"We always lose our focus because that makes noise. This is not at all an issue. This is entertainment. This is business. People buy ticket, watch a movie for three hours and come away. Done," Priyanka reiterated as she asked about why actors had to bear the brunt of public outrage when businessman and politicians went scot-free.
