Mumbai: Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who was last seen in Karan Johar’s directorial ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’, made headlines because of her role of a sensuous poetess in the movie.
Ever since Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s sizzling avatar was revealed in ADHM, there were reports that the Bachchans were not happy with the role of their ‘bahu’ in the movie.
While addressing the audience at the Kolkata International Film Festival 2016, Amitabh Bachchan said the Indian Film Industry is changing by featuring strong female characters in movies which can be related to the empowerment and progress of women in the country.
He said, “Saba is a liberated and a divorced poetess who has turned the tables irrevocably on men by telling her love interest that she does not want to be anyone’s habit but she would rather be someone’s desire.”
In his speech, Big B not only praised bahu Aishwariya’s role in ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’, but also applauded Kareena Kapoor Khan for her role in R Balki’s movie ‘Ki and Ka’.
