On November 30, Priyanka Chopra was crowned as Miss World and since then the actress has never looked back.

New Delhi: It’s been sixteen years since the Bollywood diva Priyanka Chopra was crowned as Miss World and since then the actress has never looked back.

The actress started her journey with no support. But her strength and her dedication towards work has made her an international star today.

The 34-year-old actor is being lauded for her role in the American TV series "Quantico”. She is also set to star in the Hollywood film "Baywatch".

In 2009, Priyanka won the best actress award for the movie 'Fashion' and recently she was awarded Padma Shri, the fourth highest civilian award.

Bollywood's 'desi girl' wanted to become a software engineer or a criminal psychologist, but she ended up becoming an actress. In fact it was her mother who had registered her for the Femina Miss India contest of 2000, after which she went on to win the Miss World crown.

On November 30, Priyanka bagged the Miss World 2000 title, starting her journey towards stardom. The actress was just 18-year-old when she bagged the Miss World crown. She was the fifth Indian woman to be honoured with the title.

Pee Cee took to Twitter on Wednesday to share the video of her crowning moment. She captioned it, “Wow.. 18 year old me with no idea of what I was getting into.. But what a ride it's been. Thank you all. #missworld2000".
