Mumbai: Estranged couple Malaika Arora and Arbaz Khan attended their first counselling session after mutually filing for divorce.

The couple attended the first mandatory counselling session on November 29 at the Bandra Family Court.

During the session, both Malaika and Abraz were asked to reconsider their decision before they part ways. They were also questioned about why they wish to separate.

“During the counselling session on Tuesday, Malaika and Arbaaz spent a few hours talking to the judge, and then the counsellor joined in towards the end. Usually a couple is asked to reconsider their decision before they part ways. They are also questioned about why they wish to separate, if they’re doing it on their own will and what would be the monetary and other terms of divorce. The same questions were asked to Malaika and Arbaaz and both of them handled the matter maturely.”

The case has been adjourned to May 2017 now.

Malaika and Arbaz announced their separation earlier this year. The couple has been married for over 17 years and has a kid.
