Stop Yulin dog-meat festival, Bollywood raises voice

NEW DELHI: We have often seen celebrities coming forward to raise their voice for a social cause. Several Bollywood stars, at many incidents have used their status to make a difference and create awareness. Social media is vastly used nowadays for any campaign and in a recent drive; people like Alia Bhatt, Sonakshi Sharma and Anushka Sharma have joined hands to stand against the Chinese Yulin Festival.

Yulin dog-eating festival in China is amongst the cruelest festivals across the globe that has been criticized worldwide. The annual festival of China, celebrated on June 22 every year revolves around the cruelty towards dogs where around 10, 000 of them are slaughtered and boiled alive to savor the taste buds. Since few weeks, hashtag #StopYulin2015 has been gaining a lot of attraction and has been top trending on Twitter. Amongst the long list of people who are signing the petition to stop the cruel practice, there are also some people from the tinsel town. Alia Bhatt, Karan Kundra and Anushka Sharma are few that includes in the list.
