A day after Mumbai Police filed an FIR against All India Bakchod (AIB) after co-founder Tanmay Bhat posted a picture showing Prime Minister ‘Narendra Modi’ in a dog-face-filter of Snapchat, senior Congress leader Sashi Tharoor and Trinamool Congress (TMC)s Derek O’ Brien came up with similar pictures citing their support for the comedy group.
Making reference to the controversial meme that showed PM Modi look-alike standing on a railway platform, both Tharoor and Brien also used Snapchat’s dog-filter and posted pictures on social media.
Taking the post to the micro blogging site Twitter, Tharoor wrote, “Attn all trolls: I took the DogFilter challenge!” and posted the picture.
In not so different way, Derek O’ Brien on Saturday posted pictures using the same filter took to Instagram saying, “It’s the weekend. Time for a little bit of fun.”
Apparently, the development comes after a Twitter user had asked Brien and Tharoor to come up with similar “dog-face” post.

Earlier, taking cognizance of the matter Mumbai Police Cyber Cell on Friday has filed an FIR against Tanmay Bhat for taking a dig at Prime Minister.
Tanmay had posted the picture with the caption: #Wanderlust, adding “Dog filter is lyf.”
The comedy group was mocking PM Modi’s foreign tours but upon sharing, the meme drew immense criticism from public and was bombarded with hate comments. Many were of the opinion that it was an insult not only directed at Prime Minister but also at the national sentiment.
Although the meme was taken off from the social media by AIB later, it was already reported to the police. Cyber cell of the Mumbai police filed an FIR against the group which read “publishing and transmitting material which is lascivious or appeal to the prurient interest or if its effect is such as to tend to deprave and corrupt persons.”
AIB has been booked under IT Act and may face up to 3 years of jail time and a fine of Rs 5 lakh.
Not new to controversy over posting material on social media, Bhat and AIB was last lambasted by celebrities and prominent personalities and political parties for a video belittling national icons singer Lata Mangeshkar and cricketer Sachin Tendulkar.
The AIB video, liberally ridiculed and ‘roasted’ Lata and Sachin, who are revered by their fans, went viral on social media and other channels but triggered outrage all around.
Among other things in the video titled ‘Sachin v/s Lata Civil War’, the AIB suggested why the 86-year old Lata was still ‘alive’ and questioned who was the better player between the Tendulkar and Virat Kohli.
