Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor’s recent photos with Pakistani actress Mahira Khan in the streets of New York have sparked a lot many questions recently.
The two actors were captured smoking outside a hotel in New York City post which the Raees star was trolled on social media for wearing a ‘provocative’ dress and smoking. However, later on some fans as well as celebrities came to her rescue including Ali Zafar and Parineeti Chopra.
Post the entire controversy, which also sparked rumours that the two actors were dating each other; Ranbir Kapoor has at last broken his silence on the viral pictures.
In a statement issued to the media, Ranbir Kapoor said, “I’ve gotten to know Mahira in a personal capacity over the last few months. She is somebody who I admire and respect, for her achievements and even more for the person she is. It is very unfair the way she is being judged and spoken about. What is also sad is the inequality in judgment just because she is a woman. I request you to stop the negativity and move on with your beautiful god gifted lives. Peace and love.” The star also added, ‘PS – Both smoking and hate are injurious to health’.
The actor said that it was very unfair to troll and judge the actress on the basis of her clothes or smoking with a man.
Ranbir Kapoor will be next seen in Sanjay Dutt’s untitled biopic which is directed by Rajkumar Hirani.
