A few days after the first poster of ‘Padmavati’ featuring Deepika Padukone as Rani Padmini was released, the makers of the movie on Monday released another poster featuring Shahid Kapoor.

Shahid Kapoor who plays the role of King of Chittor and Rani Padmini’s husband Maharawal Ratan Singh looks royal and fierce in his new avatar.

The makers of ‘Padmavati’ took to their Twitter handle on Monday morning to unveil Shahid new look from the much-awaited period film. A post on the film’s official Twitter handle reads, “महारावल रतन सिंह. साहस, सामर्थ्य और सम्मान का प्रतीक. #Padmavati #MaharawalRatanSingh @shahidkapoor @deepikapadukone @RanveerOfficial.”

Earlier when asked about his role in ‘Padmavati’,  Shahid was quoted saying, “When you are playing a King, you need to have a certain personality. At that time, the people used to not be very skinny and lean, so you need to have a manly personality. Basically for that, and to carry those outfits also, Sanjay sir wants me to be a little muscular and a little full. But I will be gaining weight in terms of muscle and not in terms of fat. This is because I am playing the character of a warrior. The Rajput kings had very strong personalities.”

With the makers of ‘Padmavati’ unveiling the amazing and royal looks of both Deepika and Shahid, we now more curious to witness Ranveer Singh’s look as Alauddin Khilji in the movie.

Directed by prominent Bollywood director Sanjay Leela Bhansali, ‘Padmavati’ is slated to hit the silver screens on December 1.

While ‘Padmavati’ is Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone’s third collaboration with Bhansali after Ram Leela and Bajirao Mastani, this movie marks Shahid’s first movie with Bhansali.

While the movie is gearing up for its release, the Shri Karni Sena, an outfit of the Rajput community had warned Sanjay Leela Bhansali that they will oppose screening of ‘Padmavati’ if facts are “distorted” in the film. They even burnt posters of the movie on Saturday in Jaipur.
