India’s singing sensation Lata Mangeshkar, who has turned 88 today, has so far sung close to 25,000 songs and the numbers are still counting. The magic she has created with her voice in the film industry is far away from comparison to any other singer existing in the music industry.
Lata Mangeshkar’s began his singing career in 1942 when she sung the song ‘Naachu Yaa Gade, Khelu Saari Mani Haus Bhaari’ composed by Sadashivrao Nevrekar for a Marathi movie Kiti Hasaal. However, the song was later dropped. The singing legend sung songs for over thousand Hindi films and in over thirty-six regional Indian languages and foreign languages.
Singing her first song 1942, she hasn’t stopped from there. Be it the era of 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s or the present times, Lata Mangeshkar has always remain unstoppable and beyond comparison to any other singer.

Taking her early lessons from her father, Lata Mangeshkar at the age of five started to work as an actress in her father’s musical plays.
In 1945, Mangeshkar came to Mumbai and devoted her time taking lessons in Hindustani classical music from Ustad Aman Ali Khan of Bhendibazaar Gharana.
