5 controversy queens of Bollywood

Making a name in Bollywood is definitely no cake walk. For some, it is a blessing that has been bestowed on them, while others struggle immensely to be a part of it. But yes, there is also a bunch of people who struggle their way out to enter the industry. They are ready to hit controversies, pose nude, strip out and do things beyond anybody’s imagination to snatch the limelight and make their way to the industry.
Well, ladies, it isn’t that easy! Right? No matter how hard you try, you would not be able to make the space for yourself if you do not have that right talent which certainly does not come with pulling the spotlight towards yourself! Let’s take a look on five names from the ‘branded’ world which were desperate to make their way in Bollywood but could not do much.
Poonam Pandey

The 24-year-old aspiring actress stirred up a controversy after offering to go nude in the green room before Team India if they won the Cricket World Cup. Though Pandey did not bare all after India had won, but to keep her fans happy and also to gain some publicity, she did post a topless picture of hers after India defeated Sri Lanka during the Tri-Series at Hobart. It made her the most sought after person on the internet and gave her an opportunity to participate in the adventure reality show ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi 4’. The ‘wanna-be’ diva also posed naked for an international online magazine.
Even though her Bollywood debut ‘Nasha’ did not do much on the Box Office but it gained attention in a different way altogether. The general secretary of Shiv Sena Chitrapat objected to Pandey's skin showing in the advertisements, saying, “We find the poster highly vulgar and derogatory and won’t allow such hoardings.”
Her continuous effort of posting semi nude pictures on her Twitter account has also not been able to help the bold actress a lot.
Veena Malik

Before getting married to Dubai based businessman Asad Bashir Khan in 2013, Veena Malik was a hot topic of discussion on various occasions. After dominating the focus of the show in the fourth season of controversial reality show Bigg Boss, the Pakistani migrated actress Veena Malik consistently managed to hit the headlines. From her nude pictures published on a magazine cover which she claimed to be ‘fake’ to her father disowning her; everything managed to hold the eyes of the public.
But this was certainly not enough! To make a road to the Hindi film industry, like Rakhi Sawant and Rahul Mahajan, Veena also performed her ‘Swayamwar’ which again did not help the controversial queen to make it big in the tinsel town.
While her sizzling chemistry with former boyfriend Ashmit Patel on the reality show did enough to gauge on the limelight she was trying to gain, her agonizing argument on a news channel with ‘Maulvis’ from Pakistan that went viral changed the perspective of the people towards bold and audacious Veena.
Apart from this, her link ups have been talked about every now and then. Before dating Ashmit Patel, she was supposedly dating Pakistan cricketer Mohammad Asif.
Even though her tactics to make place in Bollywood helped her a little, but it was certain that it was difficult for the lady to create a brand for herself in the industry!
Sambhavana Seth

The Bhojpuri item girl set the TRPs soaring with her high-voltage drama on the reality shows – ‘Bigg Boss’ and ‘Desi Girl’. But as we all know that despite Seth denying it each time, all that she does, is to gauge the media attention. Seth managed to hit the headlines as she challenged Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor that she could have certainly done a better job than ‘Bebo’ in her song ‘Halkat Jawani’.
Apart from this, Seth caught the frenzy of the media with her casual comments about Sara Khan’s wedding being a publicity gimmick’ which followed the war of words. While her comments left Sara furious, as an exploded reaction, she responded that Sambhavna is nobody more than a C-grade item girl.
Rakhi Sawant

Tagged as the ‘Drama Queen’ of Bollywood, item girl Rakhi Sawant has always made headlines. From her mocking remarks on Bollywood actresses to the kissing episode with pop-singer Mika to fight with her ex-boyfriend Abhishek Awasthi, everything that she has done has been noticed by each one of us. Isn’t it? It helped her become so popular that she appeared on Karan Johar’s chat show and bagged item numbers in big banner movies.
Sherlyn Chopra

An Indian model and actress in spite of trying hard for attention has not been able to do much in Bollywood. Her short stint in the industry has not given her any strong recognition for which the actress is certainly disappointed. Anyhow, Chopra is definitely not among those who would give up on all hopes as she then chose another way to pull the strings.
Her cover page of the magazine, ‘Playboy’ gave her the desired publicity. To maintain the aura, the active Twitter user, keeps her ‘admirers’ ‘satisfied’ and happy by posting nude or semi-nude images every now and then. Her bold avatar in the movie ‘Kamasutra 3D’ raised several questions of obscenity.
Well, keeping all that these ladies have done in mind; do you really feel that the actors need to break the clutter and move up the B-town ladder? Will any of these starlets make it big in Bollywood with quality films ever? This is something yet to be discovered. But, keeping in mind the current scenario of all of them, the answer is quite obvious. But something to really ponder on is that one thing common in all these ladies are that they all have been a contestant of the Bigg Boss! Is the ‘reality-show’ a platform for the upcoming actors? Does it really serve the purpose? We doubt if anybody else apart from Salman Khan is actually gaining the ‘desired’ fame from the show!
