MUMBAI: A major war on Twitter has broken out between veteran director Mahesh Bhatt and actress Sonakshi Sinhaafter the Mumbai police registered an FIR against 14 celebrities over the AIB controversy following a petition filed bysocial activist Santosh Daundkar before the Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate CS Baviskar in Mumbai court.

The list of celebrities include producer-director Karan Johar, actor Ranveer SinghArjun Kapoor, actresses Deepika Padukone, and Alia Bhatt, stand up comedians, and venue officials among others but not Sonakshi Sinha.

Commenting on the fact that Deepika Padukone and Alia Bhatt are booked in the controversy excluding actress Sonakshi Sinha, Alia Bhatt’s father, director Mahesh Bhatt had alleged witch-hunt and questioned why is the name of Sonakshi Sinha, daughter of actor and BJP leader Shatrughan Sinha missing in FIR.

The ‘Murder 3’ writer claims that Sonakshi’s name is missing from the FIR list because she is the daughter of a BJP MP.

However, defending herself, the ‘Dabangg’ actress stated that Alia’s name was also missing in few of the previous FIRs whereas her name was there.

“Dear Mr.@MaheshNBhatt, a couple of pointless FIR's have been filed before this (delhi and kol if im not mistaken, in which my name was (1/4),” she tweeted following some more tweets which said:

“Mentioned and Alia's wasnt. I don't remember my father questioning them as to how or why so. I do agree with u however, if these FIR's (2/4)”

“Are filed on 2-3 members of the audience, why not the other 3,998. Lets not give these ppl the attention they so desperately seek, (3/4)”

“And as far as my memeory serves me, nobody EVER went to jail for laughing. (4/4)”

As a response to the 27-year-old actress over her series of agitated tweets, the 65-year-old ‘Gangster’ director responded, “TRUE! I could not agree with you more. Thank you for your SANE response. Amazed by your maturity at this tender age. Love”

The video of the AIB Roast that was attended by 4, 000 people was pulled down from the YouTube following a controversy for the obscene language and content.
