With this new series, it looks like the reclusive music maestro is making an effort to touch base with his fans. Isaignani Ilaiyaraaja’s music has a large following who remain loyal to him despite the advent of new age musicians. His made his debut in Tamil cinema in 1976 with ‘Annakili’ and has composed hundreds of songs till date. Ilaiyaraaja also made two non-film albums and has even performed with world orchestras. For someone who never learnt music the traditional way, his feats are simply remarkable.
