Malayalam superstar Mammootty is back with the trailer for his upcoming action film Masterpiece. The trailer starts with an echo of the character Edward Livingstone (Mammootty), continued with slow-motion shots and ends at some nice punch lines. Mammootty, playing a rough professor, is on a mission to bring about a change in his students’ life and he will never quit until he makes them realise their duties and learn some manners. Unlike other professors, his style is unique and he knows how to get things done.

Looking at the trailer, Edward seems to win over the hearts of his students with his unconventional ways. Be it his style to wrap up the Lungi or adjusting his fist before a fight, Edward impresses the viewers with all his peculiar moves. Masterpiece seems to follow the same path that has been explored by various filmmakers in the past. The story revolves around a professor who persuades his students to chase their goals in life.

The movie is directed by Ajai Vasudev, who made his debut with Mammootty’s RajadhiRaja in 2014. The director has promised the movie to be an enjoyable and a ‘masala’ entertainer. The director has used the weapon of Mammooty’s stardom with slow-motion and punch lines as his shields from the critics.

Masterpiece has an ensemble cast including Mammootty, Unni Mukundan, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Poonam Bajwa, Kalabhavan Shajohn, Maqbool Salmaan, Santhosh Pandit and Mahima Nambiar. The film is written by Uday Krishna and Sibi K Thomas. Masterpiece is going to be another hit for Mammootty as the trailer has already gained 777k likes on YouTube. Masterpiece is all set to be released on December 21.
