Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap is known for his action films and dark comedies. He is known for making powerful cinema with dark humour, impressive dialogues and exemplary action. Anurag is once again back with another impactful and purposeful film titled Mukkabaaz which features Vineet Kumar Singh, Zoya Hussain, Ravi Kishan and Jimmy Shergill. The trailer of Mukkabaaz has been released on Thursday and it looks like a typical Anurag Kadhyap film with powerful dialogue delivery, interesting story-line and an impressive star cast.
What we can figure out from the 2 minute 49 second-long trailer, Mukkabaaz is the story of a low caste boxer from Uttar Pradesh named Shravan who trains at a gym controlled by a local Don called Das Mishra. Shravan falls in love with Mishra’s niece Sunaina and as the Don does not approve of this match, Shravan gets into trouble and strives to win Sunaina’s hand in marriage and become a successful boxer while trying to avoid retaliation from the Mishra. The effortless performance of actor Vineet Kumar Singh has left us stunned as he plays a young lad from Uttar Pradesh and fits perfectly in his role. Jimmy Shergill, on the other hand has always impressed the viewers by his phenomenal performance.
Mukkabaaz is an Indian sports drama film co-written and directed by Anurag Kashyap. It was screened in the Special Presentations section at the 2017 Toronto International Film Festival and the 2017 Mumbai Film Festival. Produced jointly by Anand L. Rai and Kashyap’s Phantom Films, Mukkabaaz features Vineet Kumar Singh, Zoya Hussain, Ravi Kishan and Jimmy Shergill. The much-awaited film is slated to release theatrically on 12 January, 2018. Mukkabaaz will be clashing with Saif Ali Khan starrer Kaalakaandi which is a dark comedy.
