To fight the ever-growing pollution seething in its womb, China has decided that it will build a fleet of vertical forest in Nanjing to fight air pollution. If the construction is accomplished, China will be the first Asian country to build a vertical forest.
According to sources, this particular building which will rise over 650 feet will have “green tanks and balconies.” The structure will be similar to Milan’s famous Vertical Forest building.
Named as Nanjing Green Towers, the project is expected to boast 1,100 trees and 2,500 plants. The building is expected to absorb an astounding 25 tons of carbon dioxide every year. It will also produce 60 kilograms of oxygen every day.
From the two towers, the smaller one is expected to be a 247-room Hyatt Hotel, complete with all the facilities normally found in other hotels.
The enormous project is expected to be completed in 2018.
