Insight: The great 'secular jumla'; Muslims not welcome?

We today expose the great Indian jumla where minorities are hailed as the wind beneath our secular sails. But once the elections are over and votes gathered, there seems to be no place for them.

Ironically, parties which position themselves as champions of minorities are the ones who have given Muslims a miss when it comes to Rajya Sabha nominations.

Rahul, Mulayam, Nitish and Lalu call themselves 'secular' but they don't have a single Muslim candidate to nominate for the Upper House.

Meanwhile, the BJP is quick to take potshots at the secular alliance and their manipulation of the minorities.
