The Aam Admi Party's monsoon of embarrassment doesn't seem to be ending. Just days after a sex scandal blighted the party's image and mentor Anna Hazare wrote itself the High Court today delivered the AAP a stunning blow.
In a matter of minutes it scrapped the appointment of 21 MLAs who were eased into ministerial roles through the backdoor. The ostensible reason is that the AAP did not consult the centre's representative before appointing them which constitutes an infraction of procedure.
The AAP's political opponents have been quick to point out that the party has breached the faith of the people by chasing the fruits of office without a care for norms and therefore the MLAS have forfeited the right to continue as legislators.
