NewsX has accessed key Embraer deal documents that reveal that the Indian Air Force (IAF) under the then Air Chief SP Tyagi overruled the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and batted for the controversial Embraer aircraft.
The decision taken by the IAF under then Air Chief Tyagi is being scrutinised closely by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) which have been entrusted with the task of probing kickbacks in the contract after the Brazilian govt raised a red flag.
Interestingly, after the AgustaWestland VVIP helicopter scam the focus is on a decision taken by IAF under ex-Air Chief SP Tyagi.
