IPL 8: Players must remain alert, says Dravid

AHMEDABAD: Ahead of the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 8, Former Indian captain and Rajasthan Royals mentor Rahul Dravid on Saturday said that the players need to remain alert and vigilant to avoid any kind of shady approaches. 

During a promotional event at the Sardar Patel Stadium in Motera, Dravid said, “We do follow the rules of IPL strictly. The rules laid down by the ACSU (Anti-Corruption and Security Unit of IPL). There are some protocols in place to prevent a repeat of the 2013 fixing scandal.”

Dravid further said, “The Rajasthan Royals is alert and we will try our best to stop such menace and they have to be vigilant and alert against such issues.”

In 2013 IPL spot fixing, three players including S. Sreesanth were arrested and Sreesanth was also banned for life by the BCCI.
